Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. Purpose of This Policy
QuickConnekt provides an online platform through which customers can discover and book services offered by independent service providers.
This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains the general process that applies when a booking is cancelled, postponed, disputed or otherwise affected after payment.
Specific circumstances may require QuickConnekt to assess a booking individually.
2. Important Information About Payments
Where card payments are available, the customer payment may be processed through QuickConnekt's appointed payment service provider.
A successful payment means that the payment transaction has been processed. It does not necessarily mean that the service has already been completed.
3. Customer Cancellations
A customer may request cancellation of a booking through the cancellation process made available by QuickConnekt.
Whether a cancellation results in a refund may depend on factors such as the booking status, timing of the cancellation, whether the service has already been performed, the reason for cancellation and applicable consumer rights.
Customers should cancel as soon as they know that they will not be able to attend or proceed with a booking.
4. Provider Cancellations
Service providers are expected to honour accepted bookings and provide the agreed service at the agreed time.
If a provider cannot fulfil a booking, the provider should use the appropriate cancellation or postponement process provided by QuickConnekt.
Where a provider cancels a booking and the customer is entitled to a refund, QuickConnekt may process or facilitate the applicable refund through the payment system.
5. Postponed Bookings
Where a provider cannot provide the service at the originally agreed date or time, the provider may request that the booking be postponed where the QuickConnekt platform provides that functionality.
The customer may be given options to respond to the postponement, including accepting a new date and time or requesting a rebooking where applicable.
A valid rebooking through QuickConnekt does not automatically create a second payment for the same original transaction where the platform identifies the booking as a rebooking.
6. Rebooking
Where QuickConnekt permits a customer to rebook an eligible booking, the original booking and payment history may remain associated with the transaction.
A rebooking generally changes the applicable date and time rather than creating an entirely new paid transaction.
Users must follow the rebooking process presented by QuickConnekt rather than creating duplicate bookings for the same service.
7. Refund Eligibility
A refund may be considered where, for example:
- a provider cancels an accepted booking and the service cannot be rescheduled;
- a qualifying booking is cancelled in accordance with the applicable cancellation terms;
- a payment was processed incorrectly;
- QuickConnekt determines that a refund is appropriate following a valid service dispute; or
- applicable law requires a refund or other remedy.
This list is not intended to limit any rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable law.
8. Situations Where a Refund May Not Be Automatic
A refund may require review where:
- the service has already been completed;
- the customer cancels shortly before the scheduled service;
- the customer fails to attend or make themselves available;
- the customer and provider disagree about whether the service was performed;
- the customer reports a service issue after completion; or
- there is insufficient information to determine the appropriate outcome.
In these circumstances, QuickConnekt may review the booking history, communications, payment records and information supplied by the relevant parties before determining what action is appropriate.
9. Service Completed but Customer Has an Issue
When a provider marks a booking as completed, the customer may be given an opportunity to confirm completion or report an issue, depending on the applicable QuickConnekt process.
Customers should report a genuine service problem as soon as reasonably possible and provide sufficient information for the matter to be investigated.
10. Four-Hour Customer Response Protection
Where applicable, QuickConnekt may provide a customer response period after a provider marks a service as completed.
The four-hour response period applies only after the provider has marked the service as completed and the customer has not yet responded.
The four-hour period is not a general countdown that begins when a booking is created, accepted or paid.
If the customer confirms completion before the applicable response period expires, the booking may become eligible for the normal provider payout process.
If the customer reports an issue before the applicable response period expires, QuickConnekt may hold or review the relevant transaction while the issue is investigated.
If the customer does not respond during the applicable response period, QuickConnekt may allow the booking to proceed toward provider payout, subject to any other relevant circumstances.
11. Reporting a Service Issue
A customer who believes that a service was not provided as agreed should report the issue through the available QuickConnekt support or dispute process.
The customer may be asked to provide:
- the booking reference;
- a description of the issue;
- relevant communication with the provider;
- photographs or other supporting information where appropriate; and
- any other information reasonably required to investigate the matter.
12. Dispute Review
Where a customer and provider disagree about a booking or service, QuickConnekt may review available information before deciding what platform action is appropriate.
This may include reviewing:
- booking information;
- booking status changes;
- payment records;
- customer and provider communications;
- completion and confirmation records;
- postponement or rebooking information; and
- other relevant information available to QuickConnekt.
QuickConnekt may request information from both parties before resolving a dispute.
13. Refund Method
Where a refund is approved for a card transaction, QuickConnekt may process or facilitate the refund through the applicable payment service provider.
Refunds may be subject to processing times imposed by the payment service provider or the customer's financial institution.
QuickConnekt does not control the exact time required for a financial institution to reflect a completed refund in a customer's account.
14. Payment Processing Fees
Payment-processing charges may be imposed by the third-party payment provider used to process a transaction.
The treatment of payment-processing fees in a refund will depend on the circumstances of the transaction, the applicable payment provider rules and applicable law.
QuickConnekt will not use this policy to remove a refund or consumer remedy that is required by applicable law.
15. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments
If a customer believes that they have been charged more than once for the same booking or that an incorrect amount was charged, they should contact QuickConnekt as soon as possible.
QuickConnekt may review the relevant transaction references and payment records and take appropriate corrective action where an error is confirmed.
16. Failed Payments
If a payment attempt fails, the booking may remain unpaid or pending until a successful payment is received, depending on the applicable booking process.
A failed payment does not automatically create a successful booking payment.
Customers should not assume that a booking is fully confirmed merely because they reached a payment page.
17. Payment Reversals and Refunds
A payment may sometimes be reversed, refunded or otherwise adjusted by the payment service provider.
QuickConnekt may update the relevant booking and payment records when it receives information about a payment reversal, refund or other transaction change.
18. Provider Payouts After Cancellation or Dispute
A provider is not automatically entitled to receive a payout merely because a customer has made a successful payment.
QuickConnekt may delay, hold, adjust or prevent a provider payout where a booking is cancelled, refunded, disputed, reversed or otherwise requires review.
Where a provider account is later deleted, QuickConnekt may retain relevant booking and payment records necessary to administer outstanding transactions and financial obligations.
19. Provider Subscription Refunds
Provider subscription payments are separate from individual customer booking payments.
Subscription cancellations, billing adjustments or refund requests may be handled according to the applicable subscription terms, payment records and applicable law.
Where a subscription payment has already been processed, cancellation of a subscription does not automatically mean that the previous payment will be refunded.
20. Exceptional Circumstances
QuickConnekt may review cancellations and refund requests individually where circumstances are unusual or outside the normal booking process.
Examples may include serious technical errors, duplicate charges, confirmed fraudulent activity, significant platform errors or other circumstances requiring individual review.
21. No Waiver of Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove, restrict or waive any consumer right, remedy or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
Where applicable law provides a customer with a greater right or remedy than this policy describes, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.
22. How to Request a Refund or Report a Problem
Customers should use the support or dispute functionality provided by QuickConnekt where available.
A request should include enough information for QuickConnekt to identify the relevant booking and transaction.
Customers should provide the booking reference and a clear explanation of the reason for the request.
23. Review Process
QuickConnekt may acknowledge a refund or dispute request and may ask for additional information before reaching a decision.
The time required to review a matter may depend on its complexity, whether the provider needs to respond, and whether information must be obtained from a third-party payment provider.
24. Changes to This Policy
QuickConnekt may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the platform, payment processes, business operations or applicable legal requirements.
The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
